This exhibition shows how important it is to teach or to tell someone something.I
think the children in this workshop may not have the mind to try to express
or to tell something.
To take a photo in the first time could be confusing for the children,
but what Mr.Hashiguchi and his staff told is to not to think with your
head but to feel, and I think the children understood it.It is hard to express
by words but it helps to discover what is important in life. (Male)
I thought the power of innocent children is amazing.I went to Thailand
this summer and got touched by the children who lives happily in there
own way without materials that is everywhere in Japan.I wish the children won't forget what they felt when they first hold the
camera. (Female)
I happen to drop by JICA and saw these wonderful works. There were all impressive
and individual. The scenery, objects and material in Vietnam looks odd and
new to me.Thank you for this opportunity. (Male)
How pure
these works are.It was cloudy and I wasn't feeling well, but by these cute boys
and girls power gave me warm feeling. Please let me know when you are going to have another exhibition.I would love to feel this fresh air again. (Female)
Basically,I do not recognize Photograph as art.Although,as watching the
children's work I began to think how interesting it is to trim off a moment from the innumerable phase and space. (Male)
Thank you very much!
I used to think framed-out photographs can not be a piece of work. I learned
a lot too by watching the Video of Mr.Hashiguchi's lecture to the children. (Male)
There were so many photos that grasped my heart.
It made me want to take an image with a camera.
Thank you for sharing those lovely pictures. (Female)
I went to visit Vietnam in September.
I enjoy taking pictures too,and I took a lot of pictures at Vietnam.
When I look around the children were so
energetic,it made me move.
In Vietnam there are so many important things around that we Japanese have
forgotten. I heard about this exhibition when I was organizing my pictures. The
photos in this exhibition were all beautiful and moving.I can't believe
that these were taken by teenagers. They have expressed there own part of
life with there own view.I am glad that I have visited here to see all
these wonderful works.Thank you very much. (Female)
I have seen the photos throughly.Surprisingly wonderful work.
And also, the portraits of friends were all well drawn.I can feel how they
worked there best.Above all, what impressed me the most was how they cherish
there family.
I wish the best to APOCC's activities.
I am looking forward to see the next world. (Female)
I have visited Vietnam this summer on
teachers overseas training. It was a 9 day trip with teachers from Chiba,Saitama
and Yamanashi. To see there life and inspecting the international cooperation on
spot I feel familiar to the connection
of Vietnam and japanese.
Every each photos from this exhibition brought me back to the hot(passionate?)
atmosphere of Vietnam. And also, how they take care of there
family and works and dreams they have brought me back memories.
I am going to practice what I have learned from
my training trip from now.I would like to share what I have felt
and learned from this exhibition as well. (Male)
I brought three friends with me.I couldn't make it to the lecture, but I
have enjoyed the exhibition a lot.We entered into this place from the windy
outside.Very comfortable,as looking the photos I suddenly tripped into
the Vietnam world.Thank you for letting me know about this exhibition. (Female)
I saw the pure part of photography through the children.Very beautiful...indeed.Thank
you very much. (Female)
I felt the children's heart.
Work, eat and sleep. Those simple daily life should be the same in Japan
but so different. It is a pity. Our education in Japan today might have something
wrong. We should let our feet on earth, look down, look and start to walk. When
I see Japanese from the outside I become anxious.Thank you very much. (Male)
Every each of the photos took my breath away.
It might
sound like I am a big eater but I couldn't move when I come in front of those
delicious-looking vegetables, shrimps and squids.I couldn't move from the rice kettle photo too.I spend time with food and work and a beautiful world
surrounded by light. (Female)
I read
Mr.Hashigchi's work when I was a high school student.6years ago I went to Mr.Hashiguchi
and Ms.Hoshino's lecture in Aoyama Book Center.I always wanted to visit Berlin
since I read Mr.Hashiguchi's work.I talked with him that I went to Berlin after
I started to work. What they spoke at the lecture cheered me since then.
I saw the Vietnam children's point of view from the works what I saw today.Every
each work is "Raw things".I stopped by after work.I hope to see you again and I offer you your best wishes.Thank you so much. (Female)
I have never been to Vietnam( I went to Thailand though)
Those coquettish color and light gave me interesting atmosphere.
There angles, bold,Such heartwarming to see what they are interested in.
I felt the "passionate" country from the distinctive color of the river,
The way to stand face to face with people from other countries, even you
do not understand there languages. This is a great project.I did enjoy
it. (Female)
I have this thought from your website,I think it is very nice.
I don't mean nice or bad things,I feel Mr.
Hashiguchi shares what he has in his hands with others, with help from others,I
thought I can feel who is behind this
exhibition.
I am also involved in development and art.I would like to reflect on Mr,Hashiguchi
in some time or other. (Male)
Vietnam is beautiful. They all look clear. There "Most important things"
were interesting too. (Female)
I found this exhibition on my way to Yokohama triennale by chance.
Although
they were leaded by Mr.Hashiguchi,It is amazing how quickly they learned how to take great pictures in a short term. (Male)
The view from a child's point of view is
very fresh.
And it is the life in a foreign country, that makes it even more wonderful. (Male)
I
am a 25 years old male. The pictures Vietnamese boys and girls took inside there heart expresses there
colorful life, friendly expression of people and the fine beauty of nature. It
might be paradoxical, but it should be
not only me who have envied the world they live (in both spiritual and material ways) and felt pessimistic about are own Japanese world we have.
After I saw the photos, I read about the
motto of APOCC" Respect the Difference" and I have changed my
awareness. If "Respect each other" could be a banalized motto. The difference is "to respect" is to encourage self-affirmation.We are
confronted by the limit of material wealth, anxious about unknown anxiety and it
is easy to lose the way how to love your life and presence.
It could be a hint to ask yourself what Mr.Hashiguchi have asked and told
to the children.This unsatisfied world,but this world,in fact,was brought
from the thoughts and efforts of the old and it contains the seeds of happiness. What
I have learned from this exhibition is "If you catch the light and
never give up to find the right angle, you can also take a beautiful pictures
inside yourself, just like the Vietnamese children." (Male)
I have re-realized the power of ART.
I have felt the possibility of my job. (Female)
Not only "Vietnamese" boys and
girls but every single person have different sensitivity and point of view and there
are all precious in equal. This workshop tells the basis of communication
is respect for individuals and dialogue. (Male)
Mr. Hashiguchi and Ms.Hoshino,I sneaked out of work to come here.
Stillmovie brought back my old memories.
Wish you all good luck! (Male)
Mr.Hashiguchi and Ms.Hoshino,It has been a
while.
I dropped by while I am on a date.
I always think world is not made by single
color.
Sometimes I almost forget but isn't this important? (Male)
I think I felt different points of views and angles from me .Photography
is wonderful. (Female)
From people of all ages,I felt the
importance of family and pleasure of life.
I saw the pleasure of life ,not from money nor material things. (Male)
It was heart-warming to know how may of
them thinks “Family”is there most important thing.Despite there economic
conditions, they have rich human relationships than we Japanese do...
I thought this project(Photo and video exhibition) should be shown to Japanese
children at school. (Male/Female).
