Impression of the workshop
This was the
first time for me to participate in a photography workshop.
In truth, I had felt the workshop time was a little too long, and it was
also hard. As time passed by, I started having much more fun and interest
in the workshop. The first impression of the people from Japan was that
they were very dedicated and friendly to us.
Because I
had not been asked these kinds of questions often, the common questions asked
to us at the very first of the workshop were very interesting to me. They were
about such things as family, and favorite things.
I had never held a camera to express myself, so I was very appreciative
to every one. I chuckle as I remember the times I was taking photos, because
of some unexpected things that happened. For instance, one of my friends
took a photo of a person sleeping. I was little astonished when the person
woke up and said, “What are you doing?”
I am not
content with the photographs I took this time. If I find a chance again, I
would try harder to express myself better than this time.

ワークショップの感想
今回が初めて参加した写真ワークショップでした。
本当の事を言うと、ワークショップの時間が少し長く感じ、大変に感じもしたけれど、だんだんとワークショップが楽しく興味深く感じるようになりました。それに日本の皆さんの第一印象はとても熱心でフレンドリーだと感じました。そしてワークショップの最初に行った家族や好きなものについての共通質問は、これまでほとんど聞かれたことがなかったので、とても興味深く感じました。
これまでカメラを自分自身を表現するために手にした事はありませんでした。だから、僕はみなさんにとても感謝しています。そして写真を撮っているときのことを思い出すと、思いもよらないことが起こったりしたので、僕は一人で思い出し笑いをしてしまいます。それは例えば友だちが寝ている人の写真を撮ったとき、その人が起きて「何してるんだ」といわれたときは少し驚きました。
今回の写真にはあまり満足はしていないけども、もしまた機会があれば、次回は今回よりも自分自身を表現しきれるように頑張りたいと思います。

Impression of the workshop
I was very happy to be able to participate in the workshop. I have learned many things about photography from the Japanese teachers. I also made many new friends there.
I joined in the second part of the workshop as well, and met new friends
who live in hard circumstances. Every one was very engaged in the activities
at the workshop.
We could see
the inner parts of our friends through their photographs. Then we could
understand and develop our own inner sides farther.
The workshop
became very meaningful.

今回のワークショップに参加できとても嬉く思いました。日本人の先生方から写真に関して多くのことを学ぶだけでなく、私にはたくさんの友達もできました。
ワークショップ第二部にも参加し、私は困難な境遇にある友人たちにも出会いましたが、みなとても積極的にワークショップに参加していました。
友人たちの内面を写真を通じてみることができ、そしてより私たち自身の内面を知り成長させることが出来ました。
このワークショップはとても意義深いものとなりました。

What I felt in the workshop
Summer of 2007 turned into a deeply impressive and memorable summer. I
also joined a drum and fife band as well as some other social activities.
Particularly, the activity that remained impressed on me is with the company
of twenty-eight fellows, people from Japan, and Mr.George.
My friends from Phu Yen and I were pleased to participate in the workshop.
Canon cameras were lent to us during the workshop. I took photos of whatever
I was attracted to, or felt I liked. The people from Japan did not give
us detailed technical guidance. We took photos submissively, and looked
through our newly developed photos everyday. They gave us reviews, advice,
and comments to promote and bring out our sensibility and the art inside
of us.
I think the objective of this workshop was not for us to learn how to take
beautiful photographs. But I think the objective was for us to search and
discover our ability and personalities as we take photos. This also brought
out our hidden artistic potentials, and we shared this enjoyment.When the
participants held the cameras in their hands, each of them was impressed.
But I was not impressed at that time. I suspected the feeling would appear
to me in the future.
When the
photographs we took are exhibited in Japan one day, Japanese people will be
able to imagine and think of our lives in Vietnam and what Vietnamese youth,
like us, are thinking about and dreaming about. Through five days of the
activity, even though I just met them, I felt I already knew the Japanese
people from a long time before.
Mr. George Hashiguchi has such a deep knowledge and understanding about
the concept of the workshop. He worked on the workshop with a fun and serious
manner. Mr. Hashiguchi is a famous photographer in Japan. However he treated
us with a vigorous manner and he let us better express our new worlds.
But I think we are still not able to demonstrate our best yet. Through
the workshop, I found my unnoticed ability. The workshop also gave me a
better understanding of my friends who live in hard and rough conditions,
and also have circumstances that do not allow them to go to schools because
they must support their families by working.
The activities in these five days have left me with many memories. I am
very sad to say farewell to the people from Japan and my friends. To Mr.
George Hashiguchi and the people from Japan, I am grateful, and I wish
you success.

ワークショップで感じたこと
2007年の夏は深い印象と思い出の残った夏となりました。僕は鼓笛隊や社会活動に参加しましたが、特にこの28人の仲間たちと日本の皆さん、譲二さんたちとの活動が印象深く残っています。
フーイエンの友人たちと共にワークショップに参加し、僕たちはとても嬉しく思いました。キャノンのカメラが配られ、好きだと感じたものや、関心のあるものに目を留め写真を撮りました。日本の皆さんは細かい技術については教えてくれませんでしたが、気持ちに素直に写真をとり、毎日出来上がった写真をみて、僕たちの感受性や芸術性を引出すためのコメントやアドバイスを伝えてくれました。
今回のワークショップの目的はキレイな写真の撮り方を教えてもらうことではなく、写真を撮ることを通じて才能や性格を探し出し、僕たちの隠れた芸術の可能性を引き出し、そして喜びを共有しあうことだと僕は思います。みなカメラを手にしたときにはとても感動していたけれど、今回僕はその感動をはっきりとは感じませんでした。でもそれはいずれ僕の中でも目を覚ますのだと思います。
僕たちの撮影した作品がいつか日本で展示されれば、日本の人たちがベトナムの生活や僕たちのようなベトナムの子供たちが何を考えていて、どんな夢を持っているのか想像してもらうことができます。5日間の活動で、初めて出会ったにもかかわらず、日本人の皆さんを以前から知っているかのように感じました。
橋口譲二さんはワークショップの事をより深く知っていて、楽しくそして真剣に取り組んでいました。橋口さんは日本で有名な写真家ですが、とても一生懸命に接してくださり、僕たちの新しい世界をうまく表現させてくれました。しかし僕たちはまだそれを発揮できていないように思います。このワークショップを通じて、僕はこれまで気付かなかった自分自身の可能性を見つけることができ、そして生活面で困難な状況にあり、家族を養うために学校へ行かずに働いている友人たちについてより深く知る機会を与えてくれました。
この5日間の活動で様々な思い出が出来ました。今は日本の皆さんや友人たちにさよならを言うのがとても寂しいです。橋口譲二さん、そして日本の皆さんへ感謝の気持を伝えると共に、成功を願っています。

Impression
of the workshop
The period of summer vacation from school is the time to enjoy playing
and reviewing what we studied at school. The summer left me amazing memories.
Particularly, the most memorable time in summer 2007 was when I participated
in the workshop for four days. It was really wonderful that the people
from Japan launched the workshop at Phu Yen in 2007.
I felt the
time was very short even though the workshop was held for four days. It became
a very pleasant memory for me, because it was the first time for me to be asked
questions about myself, such as “What is your favorite color?” and “What is
your future dream?” I joined the workshop, and learned lots of things,
including photography.
I went out,
with a camera in my hands to take photos. I placed the developed photos neatly.
Later on, Mr. Hashiguchi reviewed what I chose, and also taught me how to
choose good photos. It was very educational to have participated in the
workshop at the time. It became an occasion for me to learn about photography
and my own capabilities.

夏休みは私たちが楽しく遊び学校の勉強を復習する時間です。素敵な思い出が残り、特に2007年夏の一番の思い出はワークショップに4日間参加したことです。皆さんがフーイエンで2007年のワークショップを開催してくれたことはとても素晴らしいこととなりました。
ワークショップは4日間でしたがとても短く感じ、「好きな色はなんですか？」や「将来の夢は？」といった私自身について質問をされたのは初めてだったので、とても素敵な思い出となりました。ワークショップに参加し、私はたくさんの事や写真について学びました。
カメラを手にして写真を撮りに行き、現像された写真をきれいに並べて、その後橋口さんが写真を選んでくれました。今回ワークショップに参加できたことはとてもためになり、そして写真の事や私自身の可能性について知るきっかけとなりました。

Impression of the workshop
I participated in the first part of the workshop, and I joined as an assistant
in the second part. In the course of that time, not only did I learn many
things about the art of photography, but I also felt really glad that I
could see my surroundings, scenes and landscapes from different perspectives.
This
workshop for me was the process for finding out the meaning of each
picture as I was taking it.

Dear Workshop!
After I participated
in the workshop, a feeling of love of nature began to spring up in my mind.
This workshop was created and organized by Japanese photographer George
Hashiguchi and members from APOCC.
My future
dream is to become a reporter for a newspaper. Taking a good photo is one of the
skills for becoming a good reporter. I felt it was very significant to me to
progress closer to my dream. I was really happy that I could participate in the
workshop.
The workshop
was also a place to share, exchange and socialize. Most importantly of all, I
could use the camera freely and explore the mysterious world. It was the first
time for me to create, as I like, images with a camera. Looking at the photos
that exposed my hazy and natural mind, I received something very difficult as
well as some interests. This is an unforgettable memory for me.
The workshop
was also a place to enjoy each other. It was the place for participants and
other people who we had lunch with to exchange and share experiences and other
things we learned. I felt most delighted about it.
Throughout the workshop, I think I got a chance to know more about my close
friends, as well as others around me including Mr. George, Ms. Hiromi,
Ms. Miho, Mr. Hozumi, Mr. Fukuda, and Mr. Takizawa. I
cannot forget how friendly everyone was.

Dear Workshop ！
ワークショップに参加した後、自然を愛する気持が私の中にたくさん湧いてきました。このワークショップは日本人の写真家である橋口譲二さんとＡＰＯＣＣの方々が開いてくれたものです。
私の将来の夢は新聞記者になることです。写真を撮ることはいい新聞記者になるための技術のひとつで、私にとっては夢に向かって前進できたことがとても意義深かく感じました。私にとってワークショップに参加でき、とても幸せでした。
ワークショップは交流の場でもありますが、それ以上にカメラを使って自由に神秘的な世界を探すことができました。カメラを使って自由に創作することは初めてでしたが、私自身の自然でぼんやりとした心の映し出された写真を前にし、写真は私に何かとても難しいものとそして興味を与えてくれました。これは私にとっては、忘れられない思い出です。
ワークショップは参加したメンバーたち、そしてお昼を一緒に食べた人たちとの交流、学びや経験を分かち合う場でもあり、私は何よりも嬉しく感じました。
このワークショップを通じて、私は親しい友人のこと、私の周りにいる人々そして譲二さん、博美さん、美穂さん、秀実さん、福田さんそして瀧澤さんのことをより知ることができたように思います。皆さんがとても親しくして下さったことは決して忘れられません。

What I felt in the workshop
I am glad that I could participate in this workshop that was given direct
guidance by the people from Japan.This workshop as I think, helped me to
discover my ability, and also to gain experience. Managed by people from
Japan, this workshop can let us know that it is possible for children to
create photographs. During the workshop, people from Japan were eager to
help us to discover our capabilities and possibilities. If there would
be more workshops like this organized, I would be able to discover more
possibilities inside me. After participating in the workshop, I became
more interested in photography. I feel that photography is not only the
beauty of the image, but it also shows the inside beauty of the person
who creates it.

What I felt
1. About the workshop
No one talked about the meaning of the workshop.As I
understood from the word “workshop,” during a certain amount of time, we would
work together as groups with freedom and no restrictions. I think the “freedom”
is that it impresses onto us and creates our awareness. After the work was
done, we got together and sat down to summarize the results. We then presented
own thoughts and opinions. So in the end, the hard work and effort brought each
of us beautiful works of art.
2. Joining in the art class
I feel happy that through this art class, I have been able to meet nice
people from Japan and made nice friends. When I went out to take
photos as I wanted, it was difficult, because the sun was shining very hard. It
was really pleasant when I was holding a camera, which reflects and records
views of my surroundings. To the people
who created the workshop, thank you. I was not given any prize, but I was glad
to receive a cute fabric bag as a memento. And I met many people. We helped
each other, and learned many things. Thank you very much.
Everyone, please stay pleasant, happy, and healthy. Also please do not
forget us and Vietnam.

私の感じたこと
１．ワークショップについて
皆さんはワークショップという言葉の意味を話しませんでした。
私は、ワークショップという言葉から理解できたことは、ある一定の範囲や時間の中で自由に集団で共に作業をするということです。その時の自由というものは人々の感動に入り込み意識を創造する事を言うのだと思います。作業が終わり、みなで座って結果を総括し、考えや意見を伝え合いました。そして最後にはこの努力や頑張りがそれぞれの人へ素晴らしい作品を届けてくれました。
２．芸術教室に参加して
この芸術教室に参加し、素敵な日本の皆さんや友人たちに出会うことができ、私はとても嬉しく感じています。自由に写真を撮りに行ったときは、太陽の日差しがとても強く大変でしたが、身の回りの光景を写しだすカメラを手にしていた時は、とても楽しかったです。ワークショップを開いてくださった皆さん、ありがとうございました。賞は何ももらえなかったけれど、記念にかわいらしい布バックを頂き、とても嬉しかったです。そして、私はたくさんの人と出会い、助け合い、そして多くのことを学ぶことができました。どうもありがとうございました。
皆さん、楽しく、幸せに、元気でいてください。そしてベトナムと私たちの事を決して忘れないでください。
